Will my phone work?
Your phone needs to support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked.
Quickest check: iPhone › Settings › Cellular › look for Add eSIM. Android › Settings › Connections or Network › SIMs › look for Add eSIM.

- When you land, turn on haalaan Hong Kong and Data Roaming,and set it as your mobile data line. Didn’t rename it? Look for the eSIM you just added.

Does a Hong Kong eSIM work in mainland China too?
No. Hong Kong plans are valid in Hong Kong only, and our China plans are valid in mainland China only. If your trip crosses into mainland China, add a China eSIM at checkout, or choose Greater China from $11.90: one eSIM for mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, with one install.
What happens when I cross into Shenzhen or take the ferry to Macau?
Your Hong Kong eSIM stays installed but only works in Hong Kong. With a second eSIM for mainland China or Macau, set mobile data to that line when you cross, then switch back in Hong Kong. Greater China avoids switching: one eSIM and one line in all three places.
Can I use hotspot on a Hong Kong plan?
Hotspot is listed as supported on our mainland China plans. Hong Kong, Macau and Greater China plans don't list it, so we don't promise it. If you need to share data with a laptop or a travel partner, email 24/7 support at support@haalaan.com before you buy.
Can I top up if I run out?
Not on Hong Kong plans today. Top-ups are only available on our mainland China data plans. Top-ups are non-refundable. If you run out, you can buy a new plan. Hong Kong 5GB has more room than Hong Kong 3GB, and both last 30 days. If you're unsure which to choose, 24/7 support can help.
What is your refund policy?
Full refund if not installed, within 30 days of purchase. Installed eSIMs are never refunded. Ask for a refund by email at support@haalaan.com, and the money goes back to your original payment method. If you bought more than one eSIM in a checkout, each one is refunded on its own. Will I get a Hong Kong phone number?
No. Hong Kong plans are data only and don't include a phone number. Keep your US SIM on for calls and texts, and use WhatsApp, FaceTime or other apps over data. Your Hong Kong eSIM's 30 days start when it first connects, so you can install it at home first.
