Install at home, on Wi-Fi, a few days before you fly. It takes about two minutes. Not sure when? See When should I install?.
Checkout is not open yet, so the install email arrives when you buy, after plans go on sale.
One tap (iOS 17.4 or later)
- Open your haalaan email on the iPhone you are traveling with.
- Tap Install on this iPhone.
- Tap Continue and follow the prompts.
- Label the new line haalaan China.
- Set your US line as the default for calls, texts, and iMessage or FaceTime.
- Keep Cellular Data on your US line for now. You will switch when you land.
Scan the QR code
- Open the QR code on another screen, or print it.
- Go to Settings > Cellular > Add eSIM (it may say Add Cellular Plan).
- Tap Use QR Code and scan.
- Follow the labeling steps above.
Enter details manually
Settings > Cellular > Add eSIM > Use QR Code > Enter Details Manually. Copy the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your email.
Good to know
- You need Wi-Fi or another internet connection to install.
- Each eSIM installs on one iPhone only.
- Do not delete the eSIM. A deleted eSIM usually cannot be reinstalled. Contact us first if something is wrong.
- Installing ends the refund for an uninstalled eSIM. See Refunds.
