Install at home, on Wi-Fi, a few days before you fly. Menus vary by brand. Checkout is not open yet, so the install email arrives when you buy, after plans go on sale.
One tap (Android 10 or later)
- Open your haalaan email on the phone you are traveling with.
- Tap Install on this phone.
- Follow the prompts to download the eSIM.
- Rename the line haalaan China if the phone lets you.
- Keep your US SIM as the default for calls and texts, and for mobile data, until you land.
Scan the QR code
Open the QR code on another screen, or print it. You cannot scan a code that is on your own screen.
- Google Pixel: Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Add SIM > Download a SIM instead > scan.
- Samsung Galaxy: Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Add eSIM > Scan QR code from service provider.
- Other phones: look in Settings for SIM, Mobile network, or Connections, then Add eSIM or Add mobile plan.
Enter the code manually
On the scan screen, choose Enter code manually (or similar) and paste the activation code from your email.
Good to know
- You need an internet connection to install.
- Each eSIM installs on one phone only.
- Do not delete the eSIM. A deleted eSIM usually cannot be reinstalled. Contact us first.
- Installing ends the refund for an uninstalled eSIM. See Refunds.

FAQ
Do Android menus all look the same?
No. Pixel, Samsung, and other phones use different menu names. Look for SIM, mobile network, or connections, then add an eSIM.
Can I install one eSIM on two phones?
No. Each eSIM installs on one phone.
